Wanda Louise Nutter, age 78, of the Raleigh area, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 20, 2026. She was a true and faithful servant of God, a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, and a woman whose life was a living testimony of the Gospel she so passionately preached.
Wanda was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Billy Yates, and by her son, James Leroy Nutter, Junior. She is survived by her three children: Matthew Nutter, Demetric Abarca, and Eve Mitchiner; her six grandchildren: Sterling, Caitlin, Matthew Junior, Kyle, Jordan, and Makayla; and her great-grandchildren: Troy, Isaiah Ori, Maddie, and Weston, along with a host of other family members and countless friends who were touched by her life and her unwavering faith.
From her earliest days, Wanda walked closely with the Lord. She was a devout follower of Jesus Christ who never hesitated to share the Good News of salvation with anyone who would listen. Whether among family, friends, or complete strangers, Wanda preached the Gospel with a sincerity and urgency that revealed the depth of her relationship with Christ. She understood that her time on this earth was a gift from God, and she used every opportunity to point others toward the saving grace found only in Jesus. Her faith was not merely a private belief-it was the foundation of everything she did, the source of her strength, and the wellspring of her generous spirit.
Wanda possessed a wonderful and generous heart. She gave freely of herself to her family and to strangers alike, reflecting the love of Christ in practical, everyday ways. Those who knew her will remember a woman who lived out the commandment to love her neighbor as herself, offering kindness, encouragement, and help without expecting anything in return. Her home and her heart were always open, and many found in her a listening ear, a word of Scripture, and the steady example of a life fully surrendered to God.
She found joy in the simple, God-given blessings of life. Wanda loved gardening, tending the earth with the same care and patience she brought to her walk with the Lord. She delighted in fishing, reading her Bible, and decorating for every holiday, turning each season into an opportunity to celebrate the goodness of God and to gather her family close. Above all, she cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, pouring into them the same faith that sustained her. In every season, Wanda remained a woman of prayer, a student of Scripture, and a faithful witness for Jesus Christ.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Brian Lee Funeral Home, located at 1200 Benson Road, Garner, North Carolina 27529, on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to gather together beginning at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service to share memories and comfort one another in the hope of the resurrection.
Wanda Louise Nutter has finished her race and kept the faith. She is now in the presence of the Savior she served so faithfully on earth. Those who loved her find comfort in the sure and certain hope that, through Jesus Christ, they will one day be reunited with her in glory.
