Vada Mae Vick

May 22, 1923 - September 5, 2012 RALEIGH - Vada Mae Vick, 89, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday at Lees Long Term Assisted Living Center surrounded by her loving family. She was a native of Johnston County, born to the late Jasper Newton Jernigan and Bessie Jackson. She retired from Dorothea Dix Medical Hospital as a Kitchen Aid. She was preceded in death by her husband Olvas Vick; daughter, Dorothy Mae West; also numerous sisters and brothers. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday in the chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. Burial will follow at Brier Creek Memorial Gardens, Raleigh. She is survived by her son, Donald Ray Lee and wife, Lois Lee of Raleigh; sisters, Etheleen Lee, Edna Hocutt, and Merlene Byrd; brothers, James Jernigan and Junior Jernigan; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday before the service from11:30 -12:45 at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner.
