Timothy Parrish Bosiack, 75, of Fuquay-Varina passed away peacefully April 10 at The Springs of Ballantine following a long illness.
Tim was born July 2, 1950, in Shreveport, Louisiana, while his father was playing baseball in the New York Yankees minor league system. He was the son of the late Ted and Frances Bosiack. In addition to his parents, Tim was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Ava Grace Cullen; father and mother-in- law, Joe and Peggy Powell; and brother-in-law, Darryl Elenberger.
Tim grew up in Staunton, Virginia and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School, where he was a star athlete, excelling in football and baseball. He was awarded a football scholarship to Virginia Tech and was a three year starter at defensive back. As a sophomore, he led the Hokies in interceptions, and the following season led his team in punt returns.
Following his graduation from Virginia Tech, Tim relocated to work as an engineer with Burlington Industries in Erwin. It was there that he met his wife of 44 years, Debbie. They were married February 14, 1982. Tim later retired as a nuclear engineer with Carolina Power and Light Company, and then did contract engineering work with Duke Energy for several years.
Tim is survived by his wife, Deborah Powell Bosiack of the home; son, Andrew Bosiack (Kathleen) of Fuquay-Varina; daughters, Megan Cullen (Paul) of Coats, and Heather Hodges (Rick) of Erwin; grandchildren, Jakson Cullen, Max Cullen, Graysen Cullen, and Maggie Baines; sister, Cindy Elenberger; brother, Greg Bosiack (Harriett); and brother and sister-in-law, Joey and Joella Powell.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 16, at 2:00 pm at Fellowship of Christ Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 1788 Kildaire Farm Road, Cary, with burial to follow at Wake Chapel Christian Church Cemetery, 905 Wake Chapel Road, Fuquay-Varina. Bryan-Lee Funeral home of Angier is in charge of arrangements.
