Thomas Avery Honeycutt, Jr. passed away on June 18, 2025, at the age of 78. He was born on August 1, 1946, to Thomas Avery Honeycutt, Sr. and Janie Mae Marshall Honeycutt.
He is survived by his two daughters, Rebecca Honeycutt and Margaret Honeycutt; his ex-wife and devoted caregiver, Patricia Honeycutt; his lifelong best friend, Ronald Cunningham; and many beloved cousins and friends.
Thomas had a deep love for music-it was the soul of who he was. A talented singer and musician, he played both guitar and piano and found joy in artists like The Moody Blues and Jimi Hendrix. Whether performing or listening, music was how he expressed himself and connected with others.
He was also a proud NASCAR fan and never missed a race, especially when his favorite drivers, Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr., were on the track.
One of Thomas's greatest legacies was owning and operating the Bourbon Street Social Club in Raleigh, North Carolina, for many years. It was more than a business-it was a place where he came alive. Interacting with people, making them laugh, and creating a space where others could enjoy themselves brought him true purpose and joy.
He was last seen by his family relaxing and listening to his favorite music, surrounded by the comfort and peace he loved.
Thomas will be remembered for his quiet strength, creative spirit, love of music, and his gift for making others feel welcome and valued.
