Thelbert Langley

Garner - Thelbert Eugene Langley, 89, passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born January 17, 1936 in Johnston County, he was the son of the late Thurman Floyd and Bessie Adams Langley. Thelbert was an active member of New Bethel Baptist Church, Vandora Masonic Lodge, The Order of the Eastern Star, and retired as a Statistician from the North Carolina Employment Security Commission after 35 years of service.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 6, 2025 at 3:00 pm at New Bethel Baptist Church. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church, starting at 1:30 pm. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Global Methodist Church Cemetery.

Surviving: his daughter, Vicki Langley Scott and husband, Jeff of Apex and son, Todd Eugene Langley and wife, Patty of Garner; his precious grandchildren: Elizabeth Lee Scott of Apex, Skylar Mackenzie Langley and Caleb Wayne Langley, both of Garner; sister, Jackie Byrd and her husband, Donald of Garner; sisters-in-law, Ruby Hobby of Garner and Helen Langley of Angier, and brother-in-law, Steve Proctor of Apex.

Thelbert was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Minnie Lee Hobby Langley and siblings, James Floyd Langley, Myra Johnson, Walter Langley, and Linda "Judy" Proctor.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Benita Henderson and Peggy Lee Cameron of Options for Senior America, and the entire Transitions LifeCare hospice team for the exceptional love and compassionate care they provided throughout his journey.
