Teddy “Ted” T. Altman

April 1, 1940 — April 22, 2025

Angier- Teddy Thero Altman ("Ted"), 85, of Angier, North Carolina, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 22, 2025, at Transitions Hospice Home, surrounded by his loving family.

Ted was a proud native of Harnett County, born to the late Clara Belle and Young Hubert Altman. He grew up on the family farm alongside his two brothers and graduated from Angier High School in 1958.

On his birthday in 1961, Ted married the love of his life, Patsy Jo Stephenson. Together they built a beautiful life in Angier and raised three daughters-Tedi, Ginger, and Marisa. Ted was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who cherished his family above all else.

A dedicated lifelong member of Neill's Creek Baptist Church, Ted served as a deacon and faithfully participated in the Men's Brotherhood group for 25 years. He especially enjoyed the fellowship of the Men's Breakfasts, serving alongside some of his dearest friends.

Ted was also active in his community, serving as president of the Jaycees and earning the "Mr. Hustle" award for his outstanding service. He had a lifelong passion for classic cars and trucks and loved attending car shows with friends and family.

Professionally, Ted was known for his strong work ethic and love of people. He worked in sales for American Brokerage Company, United Brokers, and J.A. Richardson Company in Raleigh. Later, he found his true calling in real estate, spending 28 years as a Realtor with Johnson Properties in his hometown of Angier.

In addition to his parents, Ted was preceded in death by his beloved wife of nearly 60 years, Patsy Stephenson Altman, and his two brothers, Wiley Max Altman, Sr. and Young Hubert Altman.

He is survived by his daughters: Tedi Altman Fagan of Raleigh, NC; Ginger Altman Bethune (Les) of Atlanta, GA; and Marisa Altman Owens (Scott) of Alpharetta, GA. He was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren: Connor Fagan (Alexa) of Clayton, NC; Mary Katherine Fagan of Raleigh, NC; Mel Bethune (Kayla), Clair Owens, Grey Bethune (Courtney), Reed Bethune, and Sydney Owens-all of Atlanta, GA. He was also blessed with two great-granddaughters, Ella and Merritt Fagan. Ted is also survived by his sister-in-law, Carolyn Altman (Y.H.), and many beloved nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to everyone at Oak Hill Assisted Living and Transitions Hospice Home for the wonderful care Ted received.
