Shirley Joan Sharber

Shirley Pash Sharber, 91, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026 at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Shirley was born in Chicago, Illinois to the late John and Jean Pash. Shirley had a long working career in construction and proudly retired from United Forming in 2010 at the age of 75. Her and her husband, Bill, owned and operated a doll furniture company called "The Wooden Workshop". This allowed them to travel to various craft shows including The Christmas Carousel Holiday craft show in Raleigh. After retirement, she loved spending time with her senior friends at Amplify Church and participating in the various activities and trips.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents John and Jean Pash, her son Derrick Thomas Smith, and her daughter Cynthia Marie Smith.

Shirley is survived by her sons, Daniel Lee Smith and wife Norma, James Allen Smith and wife Debra; daughters Joy Smith Hill and husband Michael; Catherine Smith Haas and husband Conrad; stepson William David Sharber and wife Sally; and 25 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
