Shelton Leon Hawley

Shelton Leon Hawley, 68, passed away Wednesday at Rex Hospital in Raleigh. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 6th at Friendly Chapel, Benson, NC at 3:00 pm. Burial will follow the service at Austin Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:45 pm prior to the service at Friendly Chapel. Shelton is survived by his wife of 23 years, Shirley Houston Hawley; mother, Janice Gregory Hawley; daughters, Loren Hawley-Pope (Nick) of Willow Spring, Jessica Simmons (Ralph) of Clinton; sisters, Sharon Hart of Willow Spring, Cindy Jones (Ricky) of Newton Grove; Jennifer King (Murray) of Willow Spring; step-son, Dan Alan Rathburn (Elizabeth) of Austell, GA; grandchildren, Alexxis, Kaleb, Miracle, Mercy, Gabriel, Evelyn and Emily. He was preceded in death by his father, Alvis Leon Hawley.
