Sheila Quick Minschew

Sheila Quick Minschew, 50, passed away Saturday, June 27,2026. She is now celebrating her eternal reward and in the loving arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ.

Sheila was born and raised in Laurinburg, NC where her love of animals and people both were evident from an early age. She rescued countless dogs and cats over the years and collected friends all across the globe. Her early years were full of church youth group, marching band, bagpipes, kilts, and summer youth camps.

Her compassion and drive led to an early apprenticeship with Scotland County EMS while she was still in high school. After graduation, she continued serving her community as an EMT and paramedic while working toward her career goal of joining the NC State Bureau of Investigation as a Special Agent. After achieving that goal, she earned recognition at the 2012 Annual Congressional Breakfast and National Missing and Exploited Children’s Awards. In 2019, she was awarded the SBI Medal of Valor, the agency’s highest honor. She retired after 30 years of service, concluding her career as the Special Agent in Charge of the Capital District.

More significant than any professional achievement, Sheila would want to be remembered for her faith and her love for her family and friends. She held an unwavering faith in Jesus Christ as her personal savior and lived His love to others daily. She served as a board member in her local church, participated in missions’ trips, service ministries, and girls’ ministries groups throughout her life. That faith allowed her to navigate her cancer battle with grace, humility, and grit. Her compassionate and generous spirit impacted countless others.

Sheila’s proudest achievement was her family. She is survived by her husband, Jeff Minschew, and 3 children: Reid (20), Rachel (11), and William (10); mother, Linda Wood Quick, and siblings: David R. Quick, Sharon Quick, and Donna Quick. She was preceded in death by her father, Lindsey Quick (71).

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 from 6-8pm at The Capital Church, 1380 US-70 W, Garner, NC. 

The funeral will be Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at 10am, also at The Capital Church. A private graveside service will be held by the family. 

In lieu of flowers, family and friends are invited to donate to the Billy Graham National Law Enforcement Ministry.
