Sharon Carter Creech

Sharon Carter Creech, born December 25, 1944, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 23, 2026, leaving behind a family who loved her deeply and a lifetime of cherished memories.

Sharon was a woman who truly lived life out loud. She was kind, funny, spunky, hardworking, and endlessly giving. No matter what life placed before her, she showed up with strength, grace, and love. She was the steady constant in the lives of those around her - always encouraging, always listening, always ready with a warm hug, wise advice, or a simple "yes" to an adventure.

Sharon loved to travel. She has ridden a camel in Egypt, slept next to the lions in Africa, driven a dogsled in Alaska, and floated in the Dead Sea in Jordan. Her love for travel started in her mid-20s when she spent 3 weeks traversing across Europe with her beloved husband. She has taken many trips since then with family and friends.

Sharon loved family gatherings and making memories with the people she loved most. Sharon had a special way of bringing people together and always making them feel welcome. She has been the glue that holds her family and friends together. She laughed loudly and loved strongly. Sharon also had a witty sense of humor and kept us constantly entertained. Her love and generosity touched countless lives.

Sharon was very involved in her community. She co-led Girl Scout troop 389, making lifetime friends. She was very involved with her Garner high school Class of 62, organizing and leading many of their social events. She also loved hosting and participating in games with the Bunco Beauties. Sharon was involved in many philanthropic endeavors, particularly sponsoring food drives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Carter and Aileen Baker; her husband, Jake Creech; her daughter, Paige Williams; and grandson, Jason Williams.

Sharon leaves behind her loving daughters, Paula Creech and Shelley Peele; Shelley's husband, Rob Peele; grandchildren, Perry Williams, Emily Peele and Ashley Peele; and great-grandchild, Landen Lundy. She is also survived by her sister, Carolyn Carter, and her bonus daughter, Lynne Dean Thornton, along with many extended family members and friends who loved her dearly.

Though her family's hearts are broken, they are forever grateful for the love, strength, and joy Sharon gave so freely throughout her life. Her spirit, laughter, and unwavering love will continue to guide those she leaves behind.

In addition to the memorial service at Bryan-Lee, A Celebration of Life for Sharon will be held at a later date to allow family and friends time to travel, gather, and celebrate her life together. We appreciate everyone’s love, prayers, and support during this time. Details for the service will be shared once arrangements are finalized.
