Scott Franklyn Bates

Clayton- Scott Franklyn Bates, 54, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, September 17, 2020. Born December 28, 1965, in Kearney, Nebraska. Scott graduated from Hampden Academy in Hampden, Maine. Scott served in the U.S. Army with specialized training in the medical surgical field. After his Army discharge, Scott became employed in several medical practices as a Surgical First Assistant. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Gretchen Hynds Bates; 4-children, Daniel, Thomas, Jonathan and Evelyn; a sister, Amy VanHorn; mother and stepfather, Dianne and Chris Fineout; father and stepmother, Gary and Julia Bates. Scott was an active member of his church community in Massachusetts and North Carolina. A small gathering to celebrate Scotts life will be held in October.
