Ruth Yates

Ruth Louise Chappell Yates, age 95, died Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at Transitions LifeCare in Raleigh. She was born on November 27, 1929 in Wake County, NC to the late Gorman Duncan Chappell and Erna Maude Watkins Chappell.

She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Williford; sons, William Danny Yates (Pam), Roger Dale Yates, and Donald Wayne Yates; grandchildren, Lisa Hargis (Troy), Jennifer Abbey (Lee), Jodi Marie Zettle Yates, Jason Yates (Carrie), Amber Yates, Ashley Yates Davis (Josh); great-children, Drake, Landon, Cameron, Luke, Ayden, Christopher, Lourie, Collin, Sarah, Yates, Alex, and Jack.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Hubert H. Yates, Jr.; brothers, Bob Chappell, Willard Chappell, and Billy Chappell.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 20, 2025 from 3-5pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 1200 Benson Road, Garner, NC, 27529.
