Ronnie Burton Coats

Ronnie Burton Coats passed away Friday June 15, 2018 due to complications from Alzheimers and a fall. He grew up in Garner NC, served in the Army as a member of the Old Guard at Arlington National Cemetery retired as a firefighter with the Cary Fire Dept. As most all firefighters and police he also had a 2nd job as a carpet installer which helped finance his racing hobby. He was a 4-cylinder stock champion at Wake County Speedway in 1999. The family will receive friends Thursday June 21, from 6:00 -8:00 pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. Burial will follow at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents Burton and Virginia Coats and a younger brother Tony. Ronnie is survived by his wife of 37 years Linda Sally Coats; sons; Burton Coats and wife Sara, Chris Coats and wife Laura; grandchildren, Hayes Burton Coats and Austin Coats; brother Robert Coats and Ronnie’s beloved dog Scarlett.
