Robert Gordon Gower

Robert Gordon Gower, 89, born in Elizabeth City, NC on Feb. 8, 1937, went home to be with his Lord on June 29, 2026.

He proudly served for 8 years in the NC National Guard and was a faithful servant who loved the Lord and dedicated over 50 years of his life serving with Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF). Robert was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sarah Gower, in 2008; daughter, Dwan Young-Padgett, in 2015; and grandson, Rainey Young, in 2000.

He is survived by his children, Don (Brenda) Gower and Beth Gower; sister, Yvonne Ennis; six grandchildren (including Dwan's son, Wesley); and twelve great-grandchildren.

A time of visitation will be held from 9:30 - 10:45 with the funeral service following at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. Services will be held at Catawba Springs Christian Church, 6801 Ten-Ten Rd, Apex, NC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Child Evangelism Fellowship of NC.
