Robert Edward Lee Whitley, Jr.

Raleigh - Robert Edward Lee Whitley, Jr., 70, died Sunday. Born in Greene County, he was the son of the late Robert Edward Whitley and Tiny Perry Whitley. Robert was a member of Highland Baptist Church and Fuquay Masonic Lodge # 0258. From 1964-2000, he was employed with BellSouth and after leaving BellSouth, was a General Residential Contractor. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Chapel, Garner. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Montlawn Memorial Park. Survivors include his wife, Ella Brown Whitley; daughters, Connie Rowland and Amy Hood (Paul); grandchildren, Zachary Whitley, Emily Tingen and Kaylee Hood; sisters, Louise Conway and Peggy Crowe; brothers, William Whitley (Barbara), Dennis Whitley (Shirley) and Phillip Whitley; sisters-in-law, Diane Whitley and Vicki Johnson; brother-in-law, Robert L. Brown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jenny Whitley; sister, Myrtle Whitley McCullan; brothers, Ray Whitley and Donald Whitley. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 pm Tuesday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner.
