Robert Tew Benton

Robert Tew Benton (AKA Rob/Robbie), 70, passed away at his home in Angier NC on June 10, 2026.

 Rob was predeceased by his parents, James Ray and Ellen Tew Benton; brothers, Steve and Tom/Tommie Benton; and his daughter Melissa Crady, all from Fayetteville, NC. Rob is survived by a sister, step-son, several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many cousins.

 Rob retired from Wake Technical Institute of Raleigh, NC in 2016, following 27 years of service as the Facilities Manager. Prior to his Wake Tech career he was a construction project superintendent on several commercial buildings throughout western and eastern North Carolina. 

He enjoyed many hobbies, but his favorite was fishing. Rob was a very upstanding, honest & conscientious individual and a mentor to many. 

He was a beloved, compassionate and devoted father, son and brother and always met challenges head on. He will be deeply missed. There will be no formal memorial. 

A private gathering will be held to celebrate his memory at a time and place yet to be determined.
