Rena Godwin Smith

Rena Godwin Smith, 93, passed away at Hospice Home at High Point, surrounded by her loving family. A native of Johnston Co., she was the daughter of the late Rufus and Repsie Godwin. Funeral Service will be held Monday at 2:00 PM at Kennebec Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin H. Smith; four sisters and four brothers. She is survived by daughters; Phyllis McCoy and husband Edward and Nancy Smith; sister, Anna Monday; grandchildren, Allison Almond and husband Grant and Joseph McCoy and wife Lori; great-grandchildren, Reece and Jack Almond and a large extended family. The family will receive friends Monday from 1- 2 PM at the church prior to the service. In Lieu of flowers contributions to the American Lung Association 55 W. Wacker Dr. Ste. 1150 Chicago, Il. 60601.
