Randolph “Ray” Luray Upchurch

Ray L. Upchurch, 76, died at his residence on Saturday. He was a 1961 graduate of Garner High School, served in the US Navy and was an avid outdoorsman. He was employed for 40 years with Westinghouse / ABB as a procurement representative. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a son. Surviving are his wife, Sheryl Rudder Upchurch; daughters, Rhonda Renee’ Upchurch and Susie LaRay Barbour of Four Oaks; sister, Rose Spadola of Rhode Island; brother, Myron K. Upchurch of Garner; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; and his beloved constant companion, Max. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
