Rachel King Hall Stewart, 92 years old, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior at her home on the morning of July 4th, 2026. A visitation will be held at Bryan-Lee Funeral home in Garner Friday, July 10th from 6pm-8pm, with a funeral service to follow at Holland's Church in Raleigh on Saturday, July 11th, at 11am.
She was born in December of 1933 to Elmon and Ava King in Johnston County, North Carolina. She attended Fuquay-Varina High School where she graduated in 1952. She would then work serving the public at Hudson Belk for 36 years. She was a beloved member of Holland's Church in Raleigh and served in the choir there for 60 years.
She loved to sing in the choir, dancing, anything music related, especially playing piano. She also loved to spend time with her grandchildren, as well as traveling and gardening.
She is survived by husband Walter Stewart, Jr. and sons Billy Hall and Walter Stewart III, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son David Hall, as well as her brothers and sister, Dorsey, Robert, Larry, Bruce, James and Margaret.
