Peggy Wheeler

Peggy Dean Wheeler, age 87, passed into glory on November 5, 2025. She was born on April 20, 1938 to the late John and Elizabeth Thomas Dean.

Peggy lived a life filled with love, faith, and service. Peggy was a dedicated employee of Winn-Dixie, where she retired after more than 25 years of service. Peggy and her husband, Bobby, were among the original members who helped establish Calvary Baptist Church in Raleigh, North Carolina, where she remained a devoted member for many years. She loved the mountains, especially spending time in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, which held a special place in her heart. In her earlier years, she enjoyed sewing and crocheting, sharing her creativity with family and friends. One of her greatest joys was decorating and entertaining during the Christmas season, a time she made truly special for everyone around her.

Peggy is survived by her son, Ted Wheeler and two grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Wheeler; sister, Juanita Byrd; and brothers, Willie John Dean and Bobby Dean.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
