Patty Moore

GARNER - Patricia "Patty" Ann Richey Moore passed into the arms of our Lord on June 22nd, 2025. She was born in Clay City, Indiana on May 5th, 1933, to the late Thornton Augustus Richey and Violet Nadine Rogers.

Patty never met a stranger; she had a servant's heart. She loved ABWA and her GUMC family. She always said "I can do that" when something needed to be done and she enjoyed every minute of it.

Patty loved her family. She loved family gatherings and family vacations. After Patty retired, she volunteered at the GUMC Mother's Morning Out program and preschool and at Cleveland Elementary School. She truly loved children, especially her grandchildren. She always proudly displayed her "wall of frames" pictures of her family on her living room wall. Her family was her greatest joy.

In addition to her parents, Patty is preceded in death by her loving husband of 33 years, Herman "Buck" Moore; son, Donald Keith Richmond; and brother, Billy Richey.

She is survived by her sister, Linda Hope; daughters, Toni Richmond Baker (Ken) Rebecca Richmond (widow of Donald); stepsons, Rick Moore (Carol) and Kenny Mercer (Henny); stepdaughter, Linda Gayle Edwards; grandchildren, Austin Baker (Kassidy), Brandon Richmond, Danielle Richmond, Ali Richmond (Michael), Blake Richmond, Chase Richmond, Natalie Hart-Richmond, Kristin Vickery, Andrew Vickery, Tricia Colombo (Michael), Eric Moore (Erin), Jesse (Erin), Michael Edwards, Justin Edwards, Samantha Edwards and Matt Collins (Jennifer); and 18 great-grandchildren.

A period of visitation for friends and family will be held the evening of Thursday, June 26, 2025, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 1200 Benson Road, Garner, NC 27529. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on June 27, 2025, at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 1200 Benson Road, Garner, NC 27529 with a committal to follow at Lee's Chapel Advent Christian Church Cemetery, 4154 NC Hwy 96 South Four Oaks, NC 27524.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that charitable donations go to Total Life Center - Adult Day Care, 1110 Navajo Drive, 4th Floor, Raleigh, NC 27609. (Patty spent her latter years there during the week. It gave her pleasure and her family - peace of mind) or an Alzheimer's fund of your choice.
