Patricia Bryant Mayo

Patricia Diane Bryant Mayo, 80, of Holly Springs, North Carolina, passed away peacefully to her heavenly home on July 9, 2026.

Born on December 18, 1945, in Norfolk, Virginia, Patricia was the second of six daughters born to Oran and Dottie Bryant. Her life was marked by deep faith, devotion to her family and an unwavering trust in God’s provision.

Patricia was the beloved wife of Harold Lee Mayo, Jr., with whom she shared a lifetime of love, commitment, and ministry. Together they built a home filled with warmth, hospitality, and the steady assurance of God’s faithfulness.

She is survived by her children: Dana (David) Santiago, Ginger Mayo Thompson, Greg (Jennifer) Mayo.

Patricia cherished her role as a grandmother and leaves behind a beautiful legacy through her grandchildren: Michael (Ashton) Santiago, Abigail (Mark) Anderson, Anthony (Victoria) Santiago, Mitchell (Mallory) Santiago, Megan (Shawn) Deal, Courtnee (Anthony) Roe, Emily (Dallas) Brock, Ashley Mayo, Bryan (Chantel) Mayo, Caitlyn (Dusty) Chambers, Jentzen Mayo, Chloe Mayo, Ally Mayo, Lindsay Kate Mayo. She was also blessed with 22 great‑grandchildren, each one a testament to the enduring legacy of her love and faith. Patricia is survived by four sisters: Myrna Oleson, Judy (Norman) Trzaskoma, Kathy Gerald, Cindy (John) Beacham.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oran and Dottie Bryant; her husband, Harold Lee Mayo, Jr.; her son, Christopher Bryan Mayo; her sister, Lori Singleton; and her son‑in‑law, Chris Thompson.

Patricia served faithfully for more than 50 years in the MPact Girls Ministries (Missionettes), a program dear to her heart. She invested her time, her prayers, and her love into young girls, teaching them Scripture, encouraging them to follow Christ, and modeling what it meant to be a godly woman. She used her love and creativity for arts, crafts, and quilting to enhance her teaching methods. Her influence shaped countless lives and remains one of the most meaningful expressions of her faith.

Patricia lived her life anchored in God’s Word. Two verses she often quoted were Joshua 1:9 and Proverbs 3:5–6, both of which reflected her courage and trust in the Lord:

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” — Joshua 1:9 (ESV)

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” — Proverbs 3:5–6 (ESV)

These verses were not merely favorites—they were the foundation of how she lived. Patricia trusted God fully, loved her family deeply, welcomed others generously, and walked through life with grace, gratitude, and unwavering faith.

Her legacy continues in the lives of her children, grandchildren, great‑grandchildren, and all who were blessed by her kindness, hospitality, and steadfast belief in God’s faithfulness.

Her family will receive friends and family on Sunday, July 12, 2026 from 4:00 to 4:50 pm in Evangel Church Durham with her funeral service following at 5:00 pm.

Her family will lay her to rest in Madison County Memorial Park in Richmond, KY at a later date to be announced soon with help and guidance from Davis and Powell Funeral Home in Berea, KY.
