GARNER - Patricia Ann Dawson, better known as Ann, 73, of Garner, was called home to the Lord the evening of November 3, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Wake County on December 14, 1951, to the late Arthur and Nona Dean, she will be deeply missed.
In addition to her parents, Ann is preceded in death by her sister, Sherry Cash.
She is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, James Dawson; daughter, Joy Loyd, married to Christopher; sister, Gloria Dean, married to Donald Martin; and brother, Danny Dean, married to Evelyn.
Ann had a special and personal relationship with God, being both deeply active in her membership with Fellowship Baptist Church and serving on several United States-based missions with Turner Memorial Baptist Church. She also was deeply involved with the Wake County 4-H Club, serving as a principle member of the Vandora Springs chapter. A well-known member of her community, Ann served as secretary treasurer for the Tiffany Woods Homeowners Association.
Ann was a deeply involved member of the Garner area community, and if she wasn't remembered by her deeds, you could count on her collection of fancy glasses or absolutely unforgettable laugh to have made an impression!
Graduating with the class of 1970 from Garner Senior High School, she went on to gain her Bachelors degree from Barton College after progressing through her first two years of undergraduate schooling at Wake Technical Community College. Ann loved trying new foods and excitedly followed any opportunity to visit new restaurants (even when she shouldn't be eating the food there).
Ann will be deeply missed by all those whose lives were touched by her generous soul.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Satuday, November 15th, 2025 at Fellowship Baptist Church, 5029 Old Stage Rd, Raleigh, NC 27603.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Fellowship Baptist Church, North Carolina 4-H Foundation (NCSU Agriculture Department), or Transitions Life Care; all of which were dear to Ann or played a pivotal role in her time with us.
