"Nancy "Boots" Testerman Johnson, 84, went to be with her Lord and Savior in Heaven on April 11, 2026. Boots will forever be remembered by so many for her kind, loving heart and bubbly personality. Boots was born in Old Fort, NC, in the beautiful NC mountains that she loved dearly. She was born on April 22, 1941, to the late Cecil W. Testerman and the late Naomi C. Testerman.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law Benjamin Johnson, her mother-in-law Olivia W. Johnson, and her brother-in-laws Frank Ball (Gail) and Richard Curlee (Joyce).

Boots is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Jacky Benjamin Johnson, her children Mark Todd Johnson and Tracey Johnson Lee, her grandchildren Elyssa A. Lee and Janson S. Lee, her sisters Joyce T. Curlee and Linda T. Habetz, her brother-in-law Bill Habetz, her sister-in-law Gail J. Ball, her nephews Gregg Duke (Sophia), Scott Habetz (Christy), and Troy Ball (Nikki), and her nieces Karen D. Wellish, Shana B. Hankins (Lee), and Shelley A. Habetz.

As evidenced by her following accomplishments at Cary High School, Boots was very well liked by those that knew her: Senior Class Secretary, Head Cheerleader, Homecoming Queen, Student Council, Future Homemakers of America, Beta Club, Monogram Club, Citizen of the Month,.....And along with her devoted husband, they were voted "Mr. and Miss Cary High". They truly shared a rare lifetime love story. Boots went on to have a successful career at IBM from which she was able to retire when her grandchildren were born.

A Celebration of Life will be held for family and friends on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at 2:00pm at the home of Boots and Jacky in Garner, NC.
