WILLOW SPRING – Nancy Fish Mills, 76, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday. Born in Wake County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel A. Fish and Ellen Barbour Fish. She is survived by the love of her life and husband of 52 years, Thomas Rodney Mills Sr.; daughter, April Wesenberg (Dan); son, Thomas Rodney Mills Jr.; sister, Judith F. Kennedy (Richard); grandchildren, Daniel Wesenberg and Isabella Mills. Nancy graduated from Angier High School before proudly earning her Bachelors Degree from Campbell University in 1971 where she met Tom. Nancy practiced sales and marketing in the food industry as a successful broker representing several premium brands, then established herself as a private entrepreneur in 1992. Outside of her work, Nancy earned her Master Gardener's Certificate in Memphis, TN and dedicated many years volunteering her time to the Memphis Botanical Gardens. Her own yard was a wonder to behold with numerous rare and beautiful varieties of flowers and shrubs. Additionally, she and Tom enjoyed traveling extensively where they went exploring exotic new locales, cuisines, and cultures. Finally, Nancy adored her two grandchildren; nothing made her happier than spending time with Daniel and Isabella. Her childhood home beckoned her return in 2015 and Nancy and Tom retired to Willow Spring, NC. Nancy shared a shining love for life and brought joy to those who loved her-- she will be dearly missed.
