Mildred Batchelor West

Mildred Harriet Batchelor (Bunn) West, age 90, of Garner, NC, passed into glory on September 7, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 3, 1934 to the late Erk Batchelor and Annie Williams Batchelor in Franklin county.

Mildred lived a life filled with love, faith, and service. In 1951, she married Robert L. Bunn, and together they raised three devoted children who were the joy of her life. Her love of her family was unmatched, and nothing made her happier than spending time with them. She cherished annual beach trips with her siblings, as well as yearly gatherings at Lake Gaston with her sisters and all their daughters. Holidays were always special in her home, where she found great joy in serving her family through cooking and hosting. After Robert’s passing in 1973, she married Anthony “Tony” West in 1977 and together, they spent more than forty years together. Mildred will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and friend. Her gentle nature, devotion to family, and unwavering faith left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Mildred is survived by her three children, Tim Bunn and his wife Debra, Debbie Jeffreys and Bridget Maddox; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; step-daughters, Kim Queen and her husband Casey and Terri Callahan and sisters-in-law Dot Batchelor and Eleanor Maxey.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert L. Bunn; second husband, Anthony “Tony” L. West; sisters, Betty Oakley, Annette Boykin and Lacy Smith; and brothers, Wallace Batchelor, Robert Batchelor and Eddie Batchelor.

A private graveside service will be held for immediate family only.
