It is with sadness and love that our family announces the death of Mildred Elizabeth Liles, 91, who died on July 15, 2026, and was born on November 12, 1934. Mildred and her family lived on a farm in Nashville, located in Nash County, NC, and she had so many memories there; her mother died when she was two years old and her father died when she was ten. Mildred is preceded by her father, Lee Francis Cooper, Sr., her mother, Mary Clee Parham, her brother, Lee Francis Cooper, Jr, and her sister, Mary Ellen Cooper Carlisle. Mildred is survived by her children whom she loved deeply; her son, Pell D. Liles, III (wife Frances) and her daughter, Diane Liles Johnson (husband Jarvis). Mildred is also survived by three grandchildren who were dear to heart: Lauren Liles (Tony Woolard, fiancé); Baron Johnson; and Jamie Liles Pope (Ryan Pope, husband) and she has three beautiful great-grandchildren: Rylan, Mallie, and Grace Pope. Mildred also has one niece and three nephews that are very dear to her.
After the death of their parents at very young ages, Mildred and her siblings left Nashville to attend Pineland School in Salemburg, NC where she received her education and over the years, she has shared so many memories with her family of the good times she had. After graduation at the young age of sixteen, Mildred moved to Raleigh, NC to begin her adult life and attended Hardbarger's Business College. Mildred was employed for fifty-two years by Ted Reynolds, an attorney in Raleigh, North Carolina, and enjoyed the legal responsibilities the job offered. Mildred loved her children and grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them and she had a beautiful heart filled with love and kindness. Mildred loved spending time with her sister, Mary Ellen, and other family members. Mildred's family will miss her very much and we are thankful for the memories we have created and shared with her and they will remain in our hearts and thoughts throughout our lives and she will never be forgotten.
