Matthew "Matt" Benjamin Tyer, Jr.

Raleigh – Matthew “Matt” Benjamin Tyer, Jr., 68, passed away on Saturday at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. A native of Beaufort County, he was the son of the late Matthew Benjamin Tyer, Sr. and Marie Bowers Tyer. A memorial service celebrating Matt’s life will be held on Thursday, October 21st at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. The family will greet friends immediately following the service. Matt is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Luba Tyer; daughter, Mila Korobkina of Charlotte; sisters, Edna Smith and husband, Thurman of Plymouth, Joan Moore and husband, Durwood of Washington, Peggy Willis and husband, Mickey of New Bern, Kathy Tyer of Washington; as well as many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
