Matthew Joseph Bain November 5, 1986 - July 3, 2026

Matthew Joseph Bain, 39, of Clayton, North Carolina, passed away on July 3, 2026.

Matthew was known for his infectious smile and the way he could light up any room he walked into. He had a quick wit and a great sense of humor, always finding a way to make the people around him laugh. But beneath the jokes was a deeply humble man who was always willing to stop what he was doing and truly listen - no matter what someone needed to talk about.

Matthew began his career selling cell phones at Alltel before going on to work for Graybar, an electrical supply company. Wherever he worked, he was known as the tech guy - the person everyone turned to when something needed fixing, always ready to lend a hand and solve the problem.

Outside of work, Matthew loved the beach more than almost anything - riding the waves and spending family days by the water were some of his favorite ways to spend time with the people he loved.

Matthew is survived by his son, Jayden Bain; his father, Joe Bain; his mother, Durisa Johnson; his sister, Sarah Bain; and his brothers, Andrew Bain and Tanner Bain.

A visitation will be held at 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM, on Sunday, July 12th, at Capital Church, 1308 US-70 W, Garner, NC 27529.

Matthew will be deeply missed by all who knew him and were fortunate enough to be touched by his warmth, humor, and kindness.
