Idell Penny

Mary Idell Penny, age 87, of Angier, NC died on Friday, January 23, 2026 in Liberty Commons, Benson, NC. She was born on July 23, 1938 to the late John William and Nannie Maude Stephenson.

She is survived by her sons, Alan B. Penny and his wife, Nancy and Eric Penny; her daughter-in-law, Celia Ann Penny; her grandchildren, Amanda Wamsley (Kurt), Anthony Penny (Laura), Jonathan Penny (Lisa), Luke Lee (Mariah) and Aaron Lee (Emily); her great-grandchildren, Reed, Liana, Delilah, Arlis, Dawson and Kacie.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Stacy B. Penny; her son, Johnny B. Penny; her sister, Mabel Prince and her brothers, Tom Stephenson, Joe Stephenson and Clem Stephenson.

Her graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at 2:00 pm in White Memorial Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 1459 White Memorial Church Road, Willow Spring.
