Mary Frechette

Mary Elizabeth Frechette, 81, passed away peacefully at her home on July 6, 2025. 

She was born on April 1, 1944, in Iron Mountain, Michigan, to the late James and Emily McGregor. Mary is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, John Frechette. 

Together, John and Mary built a life centered on family and hard work. They raised their children and operated a successful trucking business in Akron, Ohio. In 2002, they relocated to Raleigh, North Carolina, where they continued their entrepreneurial journey with Ultra Power Sports.

 Mary’s greatest joy came from time spent with her children and grandchildren. Affectionately known as “Granmary,” she brought warmth, laughter, and love to all who knew her. 

She is survived by her husband John; her sons, Robert (Amy) Frechette and Stephen Frechette; her grandchildren, Emily (Justin) McCallen, John (Allie) Frechette, Riley Frechette, and Avery Frechette; and three cherished great-grandchildren: Ella, Reese, and Charlie. 

The family is very grateful for the many people during the past year who helped in her care, expressed their love and compassion, and were sources of encouragement during her illness. Mary’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends who loved her dearly.
