Marvin Winifred Lintner, Major, Retired, United States Air Force, passed into God's Heavenly Kingdom on July 10, 2026.
He is survived by his wife, the love of his life of 71 years, Lois Lorene Lintner and his three children, Madonna Bennett, Michael Lintner and Mark Lintner. He was a dedicated husband and father.
Major Marvin W. Lintner was born on October 30, 1930, in Saint Louis, Missouri. He was the second of four sons. His brothers, Jack, Glen and Chuck likewise served honorably in the United States military. Major Lintner served in the United States Air Force for 23 years. He then served as the Air Force Junior ROTC instructor at both C.A. Johnson High School and Spring Valley High School in Columbia, South Carolina. He spent decades as a member of Saint Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Columbia, South Carolina.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Historic Oakwood Cemetery, 701 Oakwood Avenue, Raleigh, North Carolina 27601.
Lois Lintner and her children wish to thank the many people who shared their time and talent as part of Major Lintner's life. A special thank you is extended to the innumerable former students of Major Lintner who came to his doorstep in the evenings, usually dressed in full military uniform. Those visits were uplifting moments for Marvin Winifred Lintner, Major, Retired, United States Air Force.
