Margaret Y. Blackmon

May 19, 1927 — February 9, 2015

ANGIER – Margaret Young Blackmon, 87, passed away Monday. A native of Harnett County she was the daughter of the late Charlie Benton Young and Tibitha Ann Dupree Young. Funeral Service will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at Fellowship Baptist Church, Willow Spring. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Surviving are her son Earl Blackmon and wife, Susan of Plantersville, TX; sister Peggy Gilbert of Benson; grandchildren, Penny Reynolds, Gwen Pleasant and husband, Alan, Ricky Blackmon and David Blackmon, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Gilbert R. Blackmon; daughter, Lena Norris; son-in-law, Shorty Norris; sisters Kathleen Reaves, Allene Caddell, Cosie Adams, Claudia Matthews, and Nina Young; brothers, Ralph Young, Raeford Young and Gerald Young. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier and other times at the home. Flowers are appreciated or memorials contributions may be made to Fellowship Baptist Church, 1701 Bud Lipscomb Rd. Willow Spring, NC 27592.
