Margaret Y. Blackmon

ANGIER – Margaret Young Blackmon, 87, passed away Monday. A native of Harnett County she was the daughter of the late Charlie Benton Young and Tibitha Ann Dupree Young. Funeral Service will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at Fellowship Baptist Church, Willow Spring. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Surviving are her son Earl Blackmon and wife, Susan of Plantersville, TX; sister Peggy Gilbert of Benson; grandchildren, Penny Reynolds, Gwen Pleasant and husband, Alan, Ricky Blackmon and David Blackmon, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Gilbert R. Blackmon; daughter, Lena Norris; son-in-law, Shorty Norris; sisters Kathleen Reaves, Allene Caddell, Cosie Adams, Claudia Matthews, and Nina Young; brothers, Ralph Young, Raeford Young and Gerald Young. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier and other times at the home.
