Willow Spring - Malcolm Phillip Bowling, 88, passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2025 at home. Born May 9, 1937 in Wake County, he was the son of the late Johnny Malcom and Sallie Woolard Bowling.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at 11:00 am at Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 8001 Mount Pleasant Church Road, Willow Spring, NC 27592. Additionally, he will lie in state on Monday, July 7, 2025 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral home, 300 E. McIver Street, Angier, NC 27501.
Phillip was a lifelong farmer, tending the family farm with dedication and pride. He loved spending time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He adored his faithful dog, Little Man, who was by his side always-his loyal protector and constant companion for 17 years.
He is survived by his brother, Kenneth Bowling, Sr.; nephew, Ken Bowling Jr. (Sherry); great-nieces Austen Bowling and Ashlee Wood (Dillon); great-nephew, Kalon Bowling (Jordan); great-great niece, Emma Wood and many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Phillip was preceded in death by his siblings, Horace Bowling and Janie Gill.
