Celebrating the Life of Malakai David Schroeder

With hearts full of both sorrow and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Malakai David Schroeder, who entered the arms of Jesus on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at the age of 10. Born on May 29, 2015, to his loving parents, Matt and Jennifer Schroeder, Malakai brought joy from the very beginning.

Malakai was a cherished son, a devoted brother to Arianna, and a beloved grandson of Dan and Laura Maxwell, Lori Raphael, Steve Schroeder, and Berit Schroeder. He is also remembered by his uncle David Maxwell and his wife, Ariel, along with cousins Christopher and David. His family was the heart of his world, and their love for him knows no bounds.

A bright fourth grader at Vance Elementary School, Malakai was a curious learner and an imaginative soul. He dreamed of becoming a video game developer-a passion reflected in the joy he found playing favorites like Super Mario, Cuphead, Among Us, and Minecraft. Whether exploring digital worlds or crafting his own ideas, Malakai's creativity knew no bounds. His enthusiasm for life was contagious, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Malakai's faith was a guiding light. He learned about Jesus both at home and at HopeFront Church, and that foundation shaped his kind and compassionate spirit. Described by all who knew him as sweet and deeply loving, Malakai radiated warmth, empathy, and gentleness. He truly was everything good in the world.

Though his time here was brief, the impact Malakai made will echo forever. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and unconditional love-a reminder to all of us to lead with our hearts and cherish every moment.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 11:00 am in HopeFront Church, 8246 Cleveland Road, Clayton, North Carolina 27520.
