Magdalene Inscore

Magdalene Aycock Inscore, 92 of Garner, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2025. She was a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Born on April 30, 1933 in Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late Ira and Nettie Pearce Aycock.

Magdalene was raised on the family farm where she learned the value of hard work. After graduating from high school, she moved to Raleigh and began working at the N.C. Department of Motor Vehicles. She married Andrew Inscore in 1954 and took a break from working to raise their two daughters. Years later, she went back to work at the N.C. Department of Revenue where she retired.

Her greatest joy came from her grandchildren and great grandson, who were her first and foremost passion. She was a devoted Christian and a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church. She enjoyed listening to gospel music, traveling, watching college football and basketball, solving crossword puzzles, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughters, Rose Darden (Chris) of Garner and Beth Thornton (Billie) of Angier, her grandchildren, Andrew Darden (Taylor) of Willow Spring and Brittany Rose (Johnny) of Angier, her great grandson, Tucker Darden of Willow Spring, her sister Ruby Lee Eason of Clayton, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Andrew B. ("A.B.") Inscore, her sisters, Helen Creech and Mildred Creech, and her brother, William D. Aycock.

The family would like to thank the Transitions LifeCare team for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Transitions LifeCare, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or to a charity of choice.
