Linwood Shehdan

GARNER - Linwood (Lin) Ruppert Shehdan Jr. of Garner, 72, passed away unexpectedly on May 22, 2025. Lin was born July, 6, 1952, to the late Linwood R. Shehdan Sr. and Annie Faye Tallman in Smithfield, NC, and he lived his life in Johnston and Wake counties.

Lin is survived by his loving wife, Sharon and daughter, Meredith Shehdan; sisters, Linda Hester (Joe) and Peggy Adams (Terry); nephews, Sean Wall and Ryan Wall (Karen); grand-nephew Blake and grand-niece Lauren; by family friend Elijah Beuchot, as well as many other cousins and relatives.

Lin fought Parkinson's disease for 25 years, but he never complained and never gave in to it. Lin's dry sense of humor, goofy jokes, and silly puns were infectious and always brought a smile. An engineer at heart, Lin could fix anything, and he loved tinkering. He accepted people as they were and would do anything for anyone. Lin loved his family, Formula 1 races, fixing anything broken, and visiting Emerald Isle. A wonderful husband and father, he will be greatly missed.

A memorial service for Lin will be held on Saturday, June 21, at 11:00 a.m. at Unity Church of Raleigh, 5124 Departure Drive, Raleigh, NC 27616, with a private family graveside service to follow at Hanks Chapel in Pittsboro, NC. Instead of flowers, the family requests that any memorials be mailed to Unity Church of Raleigh for its Building Fund, or to the Parkinson's Foundation (www.parkinson.org).
