Linda Smith

With hearts full of love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Linda Sue Smith, who left this world peacefully on June 25, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on October 29, 1948, in Wake County, North Carolina, Linda was the cherished daughter of the late Thurman Ray and Minnie Hagwood.

Linda devoted her life to hard work, family, and service. She proudly retired from Food Lion after 25 years of service, later working at Wood Product Cabinets of Raleigh, and eventually retiring again after serving her community as a detention officer with the Wake County Sheriff's Office.

She was preceded in death by her beloved soulmate, Wayne Smith, as well as her siblings Tommy Ray, Barbara Wright, and Shirley Williams, and son-in-law, Shawn Brennan.

Linda leaves behind a loving legacy in her daughter, Kimberly Brennan; her sister, Debbie Dennis (Mike); her grandchildren, Shannon Edwards, Daniel Brennan (Haley), Kelly Brennan, and Mason Brennan; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Brennan Holder, Riley Brennan, Charlotte Brennan, Landon Edwards, Peyton Edwards, Calvin Brennan, Reagan Brennan, and Jack Brennan.

Linda found deep joy in the simple pleasures of life - tending to her plants, sewing beautiful quilts, and most of all, spending time with her great-grandbabies, who brought endless love and laughter into her days. She was a quiet strength in the lives of those who knew her-a woman of deep care, steady love, and enduring grace.

Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends, as a reminder of a life so beautifully lived.
