Linda East-Sahms

January 31, 1943 — May 25, 2025

TEXAS - Linda East-Sahms, a beloved wife and mother, passed away peacefully in Houston, Texas on May 25, 2025, at the age of 82. She was surrounded by her devoted son, daughter in law and her cherished grand-dog Happy.

Born in Danville, Virginia, to Mildred and Hollis Carroll, Linda later moved to Houston with her husband, John, where they raised their only son, David. Together they built a life rooted in faith and guided by a deep love for Christ for 56 years. As active members of their church, they taught bible studies and joyfully opened their home to host children's evangelism programs. Linda's unwavering devotion to the Lord and belief in the power of prayer were central to her life.

In 1972, Linda embarked on what would become a distinguished and successful career in real estate. Known for her grace, professionalism, and keen attention to details, she earned a reputation as a trusted advisor and advocate for her clients. Her work was characterized by utmost integrity, dedication, and a genuine desire to serve others with care and excellence.

Beyond her professional life, Linda was a woman of exceptional warmth and kindness to those she cared for. She was a devoted mother, a loving wife, a thoughtful mother in law, and a trusted and dependable friend. She had a natural gift for listening, teaching, and finding thoughtful solutions. Her presence brought clarity, and her strong character left a lasting impact on everyone she met.

Following the passing of her first husband John, Linda found love again with Robert Sahms. Their marriage marked a joyful new chapter, filled with companionship and deep affection. They eventually made their home in North Carolina, embracing life's blessings together.

Linda is survived by her loving husband, Robert Sahms, her son, David East, and daughter in law Marjorie East; as well as extended family and dear friends. She lived with purpose, faith and joyful heart- always seeking where God led her. We take comfort in knowing she is now in the presence of her Savior, embraced by eternal peace and light. In accordance to her wishes, Linda will be laid to rest beside her first husband, John, at Wake Forest Cemetery North Carolina - a peaceful resting place for a life so beautifully lived.

Psalm 23

1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
