Larry W. Rhodes

Fuquay-Varina- Larry Wayne Rhodes, 76, passed away on Friday at Transitions LifeCare in Raleigh surrounded by his loving family. A native of Harnett County, he was the son of the late Petter Hines Rhodes and Ila McLeod Rhodes.

A celebration of Larry’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 28th at Kennebec Baptist Church, 9808 Kennebec Church Rd. Angier, NC 27501. Burial will follow at Duncan Baptist Church Cemetery, 12024 NC 42 Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45 pm prior to the service at the church.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of nearly 58 years, Vernie Mashburn Rhodes; daughters, Twila Rhodes Carlyle of China Grove, Kathy Rhodes Moore and husband, Jeff of Asheboro; son, Jeromy W. Rhodes and wife, Mary of Fuquay-Varina; grandchildren, Jessica Qualls and husband, Andrew, Jennifer Harmon and husband, Jeffrey, Brandon Henderson, Harley Rhodes, Rodrick Wayne Rhodes; great grandchildren, Logan Qualls and Jabe Harmon; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his sisters, Juanita Hare, Ila Louise Godwin, Melita Gardner; brothers, Rudy Rhodes, Hurley Rhodes, and Jack Rhoades.
