Kimberly was born March 22, 1982 in Pittsburgh, PA and passed away Friday, September 11, 2026 at UNC Hospital Chapel Hill, NC.
Kimberly graduated from Mount Vernon Nazarene University with a BA in education and a Masters in Special Education from Ashland University.
Kimberly was a teacher for 21 years, including teaching at the International Academy of Columbus, Ohio Virtual Academy, and most recently Special Education teacher at Brentwood Magnet Elementary School.
Kimberly was a strong and courageous woman whose determination guided her to do whatever needed to be done. She was an exceptional teacher who cared for her students, advocating for them, supporting them, and praying for them each day. She faced challenges with a calm and patient spirit, always seeking solutions and finding a way forward when difficulties arose. Her strength, compassion, and unwavering dedication touched the lives of many and will be remembered by her family, friends, and students.
She enjoyed teaching, fostering dogs, crafting, puzzles, journaling, and reading.
Kimberly is survived by her parents, Sam and Cheryl Hollingshead of Holley, NY; her brother, Michael Hollingshead and his fiancé Lacee of Kelso, WA; and her brother Andrew Hollingshead, his wife Avery, and their two sons, Hudson and Beckett of Oklahoma City, OK.
Family and Friends may gather at a Viewing, Friday September, 18 from 5 - 7pm. A funeral will be held Saturday September 19 at Amplify Church located at 2884 NC 42 Willow Spring, NC. (Viewing hour from 10 - 11am, with service to follow)
If desired, donations may be made to Brentwood Magnet Elementary School of Raleigh, NC.
