CARY - June Stewart Pearce, 80, passed away Sunday, September 5, 2021. June was born in Harnett County, on September 3, 1941 to the late Carlie and Ola Mae Stewart. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 9, 2021, at Montlawn Memorial Park in Raleigh. June was preceded in death by her parents, Carlie and Ola Mae Stewart of Coats, NC; sister, Carol Stewart (infant); and grandson, Taylor Shane Allen of Durham, NC. She is survived by her sister, Gayle Dorman (Harold) of New Albany, MS; brother, Ken Stewart of Fuquay-Varina, NC; son, Doug Pearce (Dixie) of Raleigh, NC; daughter, Christie Allen (Clay) of Durham, NC; grandchildren, Dylan Ryan Allen of Durham, NC, Dexter Pearce (Kristen) of Zebulon, NC, Darby Atkins (John) of Apex, NC; and two great-grandchildren. June was a beloved woman with an immense focus on her family through an enormous amount of care, love, and support. June had a long and successful career as a federal employee with the CDC for 26 years in which she retired May 1995. Following retirement, June returned to work for the CDC as a federal government contractor for an additional 19 years until April 2015.
