June Baggett Whittington

Raleigh - June Baggett Whittington, 80, died Friday at her residence. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. June enjoyed travelling with her family and had a love of flowers, nature and the outdoors. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Monday at Palmer Memorial FWB Church where she was a faithful member. Interment will follow at 3:30 pm at Shady Grove Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery in Spivey’s Corner. Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Delano Fulton Whittington; son, DeVon Whittington (Cynthia) of Greensboro; daughters, Denise Whittington Scott (Spencer) of Cary and DeLane Whittington Stallings of Garner; grandchildren, Jessica Smith (Keegan), Collin Whittington, Susan Scott, Harriet Scott, Charles Scott, IV (Faith), Mary Scott, Clare Scott, John Scott, Cole Stallings (Sarah) and Taylor Stallings; three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Flora Baggett and brothers, Meredith and Sherwood Baggett. The family will receive friends at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner from 5-7 pm on Sunday.
