Julian Thomas Lassiter

Julian Thomas Lassiter Jr., "Tommy", 84, rejoined his beloved wife, Maxine on August 2, 2026. Even with his full, long life, it was cut short in a tragic auto accident. He will always be remembered for the love he had for his family, and his kindness to everyone he met. He leaves behind a heartbroken community and family. His passion in life has always been his hounds. From the early days with his bird dogs hunting quail, to his coon hunting era where he traveled many a mile on foot in the dark woods following his Redbone coonhounds, to the more recent years in which he built and maintained a successful foxhound kennel. His greatest joy was found in a good fox or coyote race with his best friends. Many fine hounds passed through his kennel, and many field trials produced hundreds of trophies and good stories over the years. The laughter and friendly competition among his friends are what he loved and were an irreplaceable part of his life.

Tommy was preceded in death by his wife of forty years, Maxine. He missed her every day and we know they are having a wonderful reunion. Also preceding were his parents, Julian Thomas and Pattie Lassiter; brothers, David and Smith; and sisters, Nancy and Patsy. He is survived by his brother, Mack and sister, Janie; his son, Stephen Lassiter and wife, Amanda; with grandchildren, Lauren (Schuylar), Johnny, with great grandchildren, Hunter and Eli; and grandchildren, Luke and Tommy. His daughter, Sheila Lassiter, with grandchildren, Brittney Brown (Aaron) and great grandchildren, Elizabeth and A.J., and grandchild, Amber Turnage and her loving dog, Odin, and many nephews and nieces.

Tommy leaves behind a legacy of passion, love, and kindness that will forever be missed, and a void that can only be filled by the grace of God.
