Julia Mae Jones Bunn

Julia Mae Jones Bunn, 91, died Wednesday evening at Rex Hospital. She was a very loving and devoted, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who had a loving spirit and never met a stranger. Her nickname was “Granny” and she loved her neighbors and best buddies. Julia enjoyed sending and receiving cards of all occasions. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, February 3, 2019 at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Raleigh. Interment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.R. Bunn, Sr. and two step-brothers and a step-sister. Surviving are her sons, Riley Bunn and wife Donna, and Hal Bunn and wife Carolyn all of Raleigh; grandchildren, Amanda Miller, Elizabeth Puryear and husband Matt, and Samantha Alawar and husband Naje; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Cameron, Izabella “JoJo”, Leland, Coleson, Riley Anne, Mason and Rami. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-2 pm Sunday prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
