Julia Edwards

Julia Holmes Edwards, a retired Bell South employee, passed away on October 15th, 2025 at the age of 92 at her home in Raleigh, NC. She walks the streets of gold, rejoicing with the Lord and her family. Julia was born in Johnston County on August 24th,1933 to the late Ira Vaden and Lola Stepehnson Holmes. She is survived by her son WL Edwards; Grandchildren, Chris Edwards and his wife Kelly, Ashley Clark and her husband Justin and two Great-Grandchildren Juliann and Eden; as well as many nieces, nephews.

In addition to her parents, Julia is preceded in death by her husband, WT Edwards; Brothers Irvin Holmes, Issac Holmes, Hiram Holmes and Preston (Ray) Holmes; Sisters Callie Barbour, Elosie Thompson, Thelma Thompson and Ruby McLaughlin.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday October 23rd, 2025, from 6.00pm to 8.00pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral home in Garner, NC. Funeral services to be held at Vandora Spring Baptist Church on Friday October 24th, 2025, at 12.30 pm and interment at Montlawn cemetery in Raleigh following the service.
