Joseph Ralph Smith

GARNER – Joseph Ralph Smith, 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on February 2, 2023.

Joseph was born on November 28, 1938, in Harnett County, North Carolina. He was the son of the late Anne and Dewey Smith.

In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his wife, Rosalie Smith; brothers, Tommy Smith, and Clifton Smith; and son, Michael Lynn Smith.

He is survived by his son, Anthony Ralph Smith and wife, LuAnne Smith; brother, Larry Smith and wife, Brenda Smith; sister, Carolyn Smith of Asheville; grandchildren, Brian Anthony Smith (Stephanie Smith), Travis Benjamin Smith (Brittany Smith), Christopher Michael Smith (Becki Smith), and Brandon Joseph Smith; great-grandchildren, Abagail Smith, Jackson Smith, Delaney Smith, and Mason Smith.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any first responder organization.

A funeral service will be held at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home Chapel, Garner, NC, on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at 1:00 PM. A visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM prior to the service. Interment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park, Raleigh, NC.
