John Dillon Johnny Griffis, Jr., 64, died Tuesday at WakeMedicalCenter. Born in WakeCounty, he is the son of Doris Griffis and the late John Dillon Griffis, Sr. Funeral service will be 11:00 am Friday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Chapel, Garner. Burial will follow in WillowSpringsPrimitiveBaptistChurchCemetery.Survivors include his wife, Patricia Wheeler Griffis; mother, Doris Griffis of Smithfield; daughter, Kristi Griffis of Coats; son, John Matthew Griffis and wife, Elizabeth of Raleigh; sisters, Pam Hailey and husband, Ross of Washington, NC, Debbie Griffis and Robert Mullins of Garner and Trish Griffis of Raleigh; grandchildren, J.C. and Joshua Griffis. In addition to his father, Mr. Griffis was preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly Michelle Griffis.The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8:00 pm at the funeral home.
