John Junior Starnes

Aurora - John Junior Starnes, 91, died Friday. A native of Wake County, he was the son of the late John Franklin and Nora Elizabeth Starnes. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm Monday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 pm at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, 809 W. Gannon Ave., Zebulon, NC. Survivors include his daughters, Jane Nowell and husband, George of Raleigh and Lisa Whitley and husband, Gary of Middlesex; ; sons, Linwood Starnes and wife, Margie of Wendell and Jerry Starnes and wife, Ann of Raleigh; sister, Doan Bryan of Garner; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by sisters, Ersell Agans, Velma Carter, Shirley Hemby, Allyne Huckabee and Savon West; brothers, Vernon , Alfonza and Howard Starnes.
