John Foley

John Walter Foley, age 84, of Angier, NC died May 17, 2025 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 8, 1941 in Coneuch County, AL to the late Fate Aubrey and Sarah Frances Smith Foley.

He is survived by his wife, Renee Foley; his children, Lisa Sheffield (John), Kris Renee Foley, Chris Foley (Wilna), Sid Howard (Wendy) and Anthony Michael Howard (Kathy); his sister, Judy Ann Jeffcoat; his grandchildren, Scotty Coats (Kaisa), Joshua Sheffield (Heather), Caleb Sheffield (Staci), Monica Bowling, Ryan Foley, Aric Nasr, Gabby Werner, Ethan Howard and Brandon Howard; and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Helon Thomas, Audrey Mae Baggett, Shelby Jean Jones, James Harold Foley and Fate Aubrey Foley, Jr.

He was a proud veteran of the U.S Army, serving in the artillery as a Sergeant. He worked in law enforcement in Alabama for more than 14 years and worked in industrial construction for more than 40 years. He was a die-hard Alabama Crimson Tide Fan. He was an active member of Piney Grove Chapel Baptist Church in Angier. He was a beloved and respected friend and neighbor to all. He loved tinkering in his shop and his beloved Maltese puppies.

The family will receive friends and family on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 from 10:00 to 10:45 am in the Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 300 E. McIver Street, Angier, NC.

His memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home.

Internment will be determined at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Heartland Hospice, 607 South 1st Street Lillington, NC 27546 or Piney Grove Chapel Baptist Church, 4440-A Piney Grove Road, Angier, NC 27501.
